    Nutrien Customer Story

Founded in 2018 from the merger of two major Canadian agriculture supply businesses, Saskatoon-based Nutrien is the world’s largest producer of potash and the second-largest producer of nitrogen fertilizer. When PotashCorp and Agrium merged to form Nutrien, one side of the merger was already on the road to an enterprise-wide approach to data management with the PI System™, while the other had operational data in an entirely different system. Western Power Regional Seminar customer story

Western Power is an Australian power company with over 1.1 million customers. It builds, maintains, and operates transmission and distribution assets in the South West Interconnected Network (SWIN). In a single year, the company supplies 17 thousand gigawatts of power through over 100,000 kilometers of circuit wiring to communities around southwestern Australia. However, as more and more customers installed solar panels, the company faced new challenges. Systems experienced low loads, net power was flowing back from consumers, and maintaining control of frequency and voltage was a challenge. Western Power needed to increase its situational awareness to be able to predict what was going to happen next to meet its customers’ energy needs.
